Abbot Kinney Boulevard – a Blogger’s Haven

A few weeks ago, I decided to drive up to LA for some photography. I scoured forums, blogs, Instagram, and Pinterest until I finally came across the mecca of photography in LA: Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Abbot Kinney is not only remarkable because of it’s adorable shops and restaurants, but also for its street art. It truly is a bloggers dream to shoot here. Abbot Kinney is just a few blocks away from Venice Boulevard, so you can actually spend the entire day there. If you haven’t been to Venice, that is an entire experience in and of itself. You can shop, walk around the boardwalk, buy art, and the most common thing – people watch.

First things first, I had to check out some of the street art. Before you go, Google “Abbot Kinney Street Art” so you can pin point exactly what you want to see. I didn’t get as many street art photos as I wanted simply because I was so distracted by the food, stores, and pop up shops.

If you go, bring a little spending money with you because I guarantee you will want to eat and shop while you are there. I was on the 21 Day Fix when I went, so I had a delicious lunch at Greenleaf Chophouse. A few noteworthy eateries were:

  • Blue Bottle Coffee
  • Blue Star Donuts
  • Greenleaf
  • Kreation Juicery
  • Lemonade
  • Plant Food & Wine
  • Roots
  • Salt & Straw
  • Shuhari Cafe
  • The Butcher’s Daughter

… just to name a few.

If you are going to shop, here are a few of the shops I thought were great:

  • Aesop
  • Alexis Bittar
  • Caudalie
  • Current/Elliott
  • Fiorentini + Baker
  • Heist
  • Lucky Brand
  • Nightcap Clothing
  • Rag & Bone

Plus, if you go on the weekend, they have pop-up boutiques that are killer. I bought two necklaces while I walked around. One necklace was by Warrior by Naomi ( and the other was by Brooke Benson Designs ( If you like unique pieces, definitely check them out. I haven’t been able to stop wearing them!

I will certainly be back to Abbot Kinney soon. It is such a fun area and is a great place to spend a Saturday. Get some of your girlfriends together and check it out if you haven’t had a chance to. Grab brunch, get some shopping in, and then go to the beach and walk around Venice. I ended the day shooting photos of the sunset at Venice Beach and it couldn’t have been a nicer way to end a Saturday. Have you been to Venice or Abbot Kinney before? If so, where are your favorite spots?

I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday and has a great week. If you have any questions or comments about Abbot Kinney, let me know and I would love to chat with you about them.

Great photos I love the one with the puddle. If you like graffitis and that stuff you should check out Valparaiso in Chile ( bloody amzaing) and Melbourne in Australia. Very cool places aswell. I llike your style, good read and great shots. I also get trapped with the coffee shops whereever I go or when I smell something delicious I just act like a dog, folow the smell and want to feast. So I kind of get you…
