Joshua Tree is an amazing place to visit. Just going out to the desert is relaxing and breathtaking in its own right, but Joshua Tree has a particular charm. It is a great place to go on a weekend getaway to camp, hike, and do photography. The trails are beautiful and the rock formations are magnificent. The Joshua trees themselves are unique and they make you feel like you are on another planet. Not only is the park beautiful, but I had no idea how much the venue has to offer. It is enormous, and the hiking trails are abundant. Stop at the visitor center when you first arrive for a map and recommendations from the friendly staff.
If you decide to stay over night, make sure to look at homes listed on Airbnb. When I did my research I found some of the coolest places to rent for the weekend. Check the link here to see some trendy spots on Airbnb. The cost to camp is minimal, but if you are more of a glamper then the retro Airbnb homes are a great place for you to start. Make sure to visit www.nps.gov before you go to the park. The national park website breaks down everything you need to know as it relates to camping, wildlife, and more. It will also give you the most updated costs to enter the park and camp.
When I visited, I had to pack my favorite Free People dresses for the perfect desert vibe. The complete list of all my outfit details are below. After all the fun I had, I will definitely go back to Joshua Tree soon! I can’t wait to venture out to more photography locations to see all that the park has to offer.
Have you ever been to Joshua Tree before? If not, are there other desert locations you recommend for great photos?
