(Literally) Sleepless in Seattle

I just got back from being in the most incredible wedding last weekend in Seattle. I had almost no time to explore the city since I was spending my time with the most incredible bride, groom, and wedding party. It was one of those weddings where you only want to go back and do it all over. It took place at SoDo Park and the venue was quite spectacular. Continue reading “(Literally) Sleepless in Seattle”

Capitola by the Sea: There’s No Place Like Home

I named my blog Capitola Jewels because although I no longer live in Capitola, it is still so much of who I am as a person. I moved away when I was 18 to go to college and never moved back. I love it so much and visit almost every other month, but I know that I am where I need to be in Orange County. Continue reading “Capitola by the Sea: There’s No Place Like Home”

Among the Wildflowers

Last weekend I went to the flower fields in Carlsbad. Talk about a great photo opportunity! The fields are beautiful and seem to go on forever.  If you live in Orange County and haven’t been before, grab your camera and go check it out. Tons of people were there taking photos so it’s definitely fun to do with your friends and family. Continue reading “Among the Wildflowers”

PS I Love You

Um, has anyone stayed at the Parker in Palm Springs?! Talk about the ultimate getaway. The Parker is an amazing hotel in Palm Springs that is officially my go-to hotel when in the area. It’s ultra chic and trendy, and a popular weekend celebrity hangout spot just outside LA. Continue reading “PS I Love You”

Not Your Typical Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Mother’s Day is right around the corner and now is the time to figure out the best gift. I try to plan my gifts as far in advance as possible to avoid any mild panic attacks right before her big day. Gift giving is very specific to the person, so think about what your mom truly wants. Growing up, my mom loved to just spend time with me. If that meant going and riding horses together or having brunch with the entire family, she would be in her glory. Last year, my mom visited me in Orange County and we had our own mother-daughter weekend that ended up being one of our favorite memories together. We went to nice dinners, spent time at the beach, had massages, and drank cocktails in the sun. It was such a picture perfect weekend and we loved every minute of it. Blogging on a Budget

Before going to Vegas, I stopped at Target to pick up some bikinis. I left with three absolutely adorable bikinis for such a steal! I was blown away at how many amazing designs Target has not only in their swimwear but with all of their lines of fashion. I went back a few days later and was hooked. The Ultimate Vegas Bachelorette Survival Kit

This past weekend 11 girls and I went to Vegas for a bachelorette party. It was 48 hours of non-stop fun and I can’t believe it is already over. We did pool parties all day and clubs all night. I hadn’t been to Vegas in about two years for a wedding and I forgot how much I love being there. Continue reading “The Ultimate Vegas Bachelorette Survival Kit”

How to Style a Jean Jacket

To all my Free People lovers out there: the new Free People jean jacket is all time. I love the over sized fit and perfect light blue denim. Jean jackets are coming back in a big way, and there are tons of ways to wear them. Today I matched it with a good pair of Madewell high waisted black skinnies, a Madewell crop top, and Jeffrey Campbell booties. Continue reading “How to Style a Jean Jacket”

Capitola Jewels Travels: Washington D.C.

Washington D.C is an awesome city with great night life, shopping, and tons of free stuff to do.

I took a trip during President’s Day Weekend which left me with three full vacation days in a new city. I had been once before when I was in middle school, but had no idea what to expect as an adult. I loved D.C. and can’t imagine anyone not enjoying the city. Continue reading “Capitola Jewels Travels: Washington D.C.”
